Capitol Daybook Research LLC
The opposition research library for California politics, already built.
Capitol Daybook Research is a finished, sourced research library covering every sitting California legislator and the governor-elect: research books on all 169 sitting members of Congress, the State Senate and the State Assembly, plus the governor-elect, 170 subjects in total. One hundred and ten are full Deep Books. Every book follows the same 13-section template, and every factual claim is cited to a primary or named source.
Complete coverage
51 members of the U.S. House, 39 State Senators and 79 Assemblymembers, plus the governor-elect. No cherry picking: the library covers allies and opponents, safe seats and battlegrounds, in the same depth and the same voice.
The money layer
The books draw on a proprietary campaign finance database built from Cal-Access and FEC filings: district finance, donors, independent expenditures and vendors across all 172 California districts, refreshed as new reports land.
Behested payments analytics
A dedicated analysis of Form 803 behested payments, the money given to charities and nonprofits at an officeholder's request: $70.5 million across 6,422 reported payments from 2011 to 2026, with payer, recipient and caucus foundation views.
Campaign Finance portal
The money files have their own front door: a single portal for candidate finance, top donors, independent expenditure committees, vendors, behested payments and the daily filings feed across all 172 California districts, built from Cal-Access and FEC filings. The portal page describes each file; the full data opens to research clients.
How the library is built
Every book is written from primary records: campaign finance filings, Form 700 economic interest disclosures, voting records, court and property records, business filings, and returns from a standing California Public Records Act pipeline. Flags are labeled as flags, never dressed up as findings, and null results are reported as null results. The library is sold to both parties and written in a neutral, sourced voice that a buyer's own credibility can stand behind.
